Twitter Releases Details About Russian Bot Accounts, Full Details Below…
Twitter has released information about Russian-backed bot accounts used to spread propaganda during the 2016 US elections.
Facebook also recently released details about paid ad campaigns and fake accounts on its platform during the elections.
Of the 450 accounts Facebook shared as a part of its review, Twitter concluded that 22 had corresponding accounts on its platform.
“All of those identified accounts had already been or immediately were suspended from Twitter for breaking our rules, most for violating our prohibitions against spam,” said Twitter.
From those accounts, Twitter found 179 related or linked accounts – and took action on those which violated its rules.
“Neither the original accounts shared by Facebook, nor the additional related accounts we identified, were registered as advertisers on Twitter.”
Twitter will continue to investigate these issues and take necessary action.
